Three-year-olds are special! They are transitioning from parallel play to interactive play, and their language capacity is blossoming. They are becoming more mobile and learning to show genuine affection and concern for their peers. Our classroom encourages students during their first preschool year in a positive environment. We also learn with lots of play along with music and motion!

Humor is used in my room daily to engage children and to create a common positive emotional experience that the students share with each other. I incorporate group games daily to contribute to the positive development of social skills which provides an essential foundation for cognitive and academic competencies, not only in preschool but later in life.

In my classroom, we focus on the development of the whole child. Most of our learning is done through hands -on experiences that are designed to foster a love of learning and promote a child’s natural curiosity. Children are encouraged to share their ideas and discoveries with each other resulting in social interactions that create a positive learning environment.
