Athletics
Jordan Catholic School offers a variety of sports for students to participate!

Band
Students in grades 5 through 8 have the opportunity to try instruments such as flute, clarinet, oboe, alto saxophone, trumpet/cornet, trombone, euphonium, and percussion. They will have lessons twice a week , after school on Tuesday or Thursdays from 3 pm - 3:40 pm. All students will participate in a Christmas and Spring concert.

Chess Club
Students in grades 3-8 are invited to the multipurpose room on the 2nd and 4th Mondays October through March. Meetings begin right after school at 3:15 and dismiss at 4:15 from the normal dismissal doors.  Chess club is open to beginners through advanced players. Come learn to play chess or strengthen your game during the laid-back meetings. Parents always welcome to stay and help out! No experience is needed.


EarlyAct Club
EarlyAct at Jordan Catholic School is a service club for 5th and 6th grade students sponsored by the Rock Island Rotary Club. The Club is self-supporting and meets twice a month under the guidance of attending faculty and Rotarian advisors. The club carries out a service projects annually for their school, local community, and/or one which furthers international understanding.

Green Team
The team is composed of 7th and 8th grade science students who enjoy gardening and taking care of God's creation. They grow vegetables that are donated to the St. Pius Food Pantry. They meet throughout the summer to maintain both the Outdoor Classroom and the Rain Garden.

Students at Jordan Catholic School have an opportunity to participate in Junior Achievement each year.

Junior High Choir
Junior High Choir is for any student in Grades 2-8, who enjoys singing and making music. The JH Choir sings at Solo and Ensemble Contest in early spring, the Christmas Program, and other events throughout the year, with the highlight performance being the Spring Program.

Kiwanis Club
Jordan 7th and 8th grade students may participate in this international program with a philosophy of building character and developing leadership through service. Students develop and carry out service projects for their school and community, and participate in fundraising projects to support a local charity or school concern. Students also attend a Kiwanis International meeting once a month to learn more about the organization and to interact with members.

Liturgy Choir
Open for Grades 3-8, the Liturgy Choir will sing at all-school Masses every Wednesday. They will also sing at the local parishes throughout the year, perform at the Christmas Program, and go Christmas Caroling at the Rock Island Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The Liturgy Choir meets every Tuesday afternoon from 3:10-3:40 and Wednesday mornings at 7:30.

Newspaper
Our 5-8 graders are able to get their creative juices flowing while writing an article in the Jaguar News. This goes to print 1 time a month and is an amazing way for our students to share what is going on in the school.

Student Leaders
Student Leaders is a made up of 7th- and 8th-graders who represent the student body at Jordan. Students who are interested in being a Student Leader write a letter of interest about themselves and explain in a short speech why they feel confident in representing the student body. After the election, the group plans various activities for their peers: Drug Awareness Week for the school, dances for the 7th- and 8th-graders, a dodge ball tournament to help with the Alleman High School Student Hunger Drive, several fundraisers to help with the funding of the 8th grade field trip to Springfield, Student Council Week, and many other smaller services when their help is needed at the school.   

Theater
The Spring Musical is open to any 7th and 8th grade student and is moderated by the AHS Drama Department. Musicals are performed on the big stage at Alleman High School.
